Government Health Care

Every year, our office contracts an independent nursing agency to administer flu shots in the conference room. I have never gotten one, since I haven't had the flu since 1981. Still, lots of people in the office get shots, and it's a popular program.

This year, with the swine flu bug in circulation, there have been some questions about our flu shots. So we all got this email from our people that set things up:
I have already received some questions regarding the flu shots. The shots we receive are only for the regular flu. The H1N1 vaccine has not been approved yet and is not expected to be approved until sometime in November. When the vaccine does come out the Government will seize control of all the vaccines. The shots will be FREE, however, you will have to go when and where the government tells you to. Also, children, elderly, and military personnel will be taken care of before it is open to the general population.
There you have it in a nutshell, folks. This is what government healthcare is all about.

the Government will seize control of all the vaccines. The shots will be FREE, however, you will have to go when and where the government tells you to.

In my mind, having the government tell me where and when I can obtain a product that should be available in a free market is far from "free." Good lord.
