This story confirms what I thought earlier in the year when I was shopping for a new SUV. I looked at the Ford Escape Hybrid, but ended up with a regular Ford Escape. I did the math on the mileage I estimated I would be driving with whatever the current gas price was then and figured it would take more than ten years to make back the additional money I would spend on the hybrid version. For what it's worth, my Mustang GT with it's V8 engine gets better gas mileage than the Escape with the V6 engine.

If they would just invent a car that would run on dog poo, I could save a ton of money!
